Funeral services for Edward Don Gregory, age 79 of Flower Mound were held at
11:00 Tuesday, September 24 at the First United Methodist Church in Saint Jo.
Services were officiated by Rev. Larry Kruger and directed by McCoy Funeral
Home of Saint Jo. The visitation period was from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday
at the funeral home. Burial was in Starkey Cemetery.
Mr. Gregory died at 5:00 PM Saturday in a Denton hospital.
Born June 24, 1934 in Nocona, Texas, Don was the son of Flemon Edward and Etta
Marie Gregory. He grew up and attended school in Saint Jo. He graduated high
school there in 1953.
Don and Peggy Dunn were married on July 28, 1954 in Saint Jo. They became the
parents of a son and a daughter. Don had worked most of his life for Halliburton
Oil Services, a total of 38 years (1956-1994). Most of his work with
Halliburton was in the Jacksboro, Kilgore and Gainesville areas.
Don retired in 2000. He and Peggy then moved to Flower Mound where he became a
member of the Trietsch United Methodist Church.
Don was a great family man. He really enjoyed watching his grandsons play
sports. He also enjoyed reading and gardening, and, in general, his family and
friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Don is survived by his: wife, Peggy Dunn Gregory of Flower Mound; daughter and
son-in-law, Becky and James Picquet of Flower Mound and two grandsons, Ross and
Luke Picquet. He was preceded in death by his: son, Phillip Gregory; parents:
F.E. and Etta Marie Gregory; and sister: Fern Owen.
The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in
Saint Jo, or to the American Heart Association.
