Memorial services for Hugh Emmett Hennessey, age 68, of Saint Jo are set for
2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Saint Jo.
Services are officiated by Rev. Dan Sparkman. Mr. Hennessey died on December
25, 2013 at his home.
Born June 7, 1945 in Silver Creek, New York, Mr. Hennessey was a son of Hugh Emmett and Helen Elizabeth Rowland, He graduated high school in Hayward, California and then earned his AA degree at Chabot College in Castro Valley, California. He served in the US Army for four years. He rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant and served much of his time in Korea.
Hugh married Diana Harris on February 11, 1972 in Hayward, California. He became the proud father of three sons, grandfather of six and great grandfather of one.
Hugh, for the past 25 plus years, has lived in Saint Jo. He had worked as a machinist for Weber Aircraft before his retirement.
Hugh was a loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of them and friends.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Diana of the home, sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Michelle Johnson of Nocona, Hugh E. II and Stephanie Hennessey of Saint Jo and Tim and Carla Hennessey of Saint Jo. Also surviving him is his sister, Diane Shannon of Grass Valley, California, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his mother-in-law, Edythe Harris of Saint Jo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Depree, brother, Thomas Hugh Rowland and brother-in-law, Thomas Howard Shannon and his parents, Hugh Emmett and Helen Elizabeth Rowland.
