Mass of Christian Burial for Maurus
Rudolph Rohmer, age 81 of Muenster are set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 22,
2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Father Ken Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott
Funeral Home of Muenster. A Rosary and Vigil will be held at 7:00, Friday,
November 21, 2014 at the funeral home. Mr. Rohmer died Thursday, November 20,
2014.
The youngest of 12 children, Maurus was
born in the family home to John A. and Mary Helen (Hesse) Rohmer on July 29,
1933. He graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1951. On September 29, 1953,
Maurus joined the US Army and served in Lakenheath, England. Upon his return to
the United States, he was discharged on August 23, 1955. In 1956, Maurus
started working at National Supply Company in Gainesville in the assembly
department where he continued to work for 31½ years until his retirement. He
was a member of the VFW, the Knights of Columbus and the Sacred Heart Parish.
Maurus married Patricia A. Neu on April
24, 1965 at St. Mary’s Church in Gainesville where they continued to live until
moving to Muenster in 1968. Maurus and Pat were the proud parents of one son,
David.
Maurus is survived by his wife of 49
years, Patricia (Neu) Rohmer, son and daughter-in-law, David and Karissa Rohmer
of Bluegrove, Texas; sisters, Loretta Spaeth, Dorothy Wright, Sister Romana
Rohmer; in-laws: Agnes Rohmer, Marjorie Rohmer, Jeanne Hoenig, Clara Mae
Taylor, Stella and Wilson Stinnett, Donna Boschert, Connie Neu, Phyllis and
David Neu, and Bob Dorsch. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and
Mary Helen (Hesse) Rohmer, sisters: Ida Rohmer and Sister Fidelis Rohmer; brothers:
Lawrence, Joseph, Victor, Emil, Alfred, and Tony.
Pallbearers were Terry Rohmer, Greg
Rohmer, Kenny Rohmer, Chris Rohmer, James Wright, and Everett Spaeth.
