Services for Roger “Kent” Lyons, age 56 of Saint Jo, are scheduled for 10:30
AM, Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Saint Jo
with Rev. Ricky Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in Illinois Bend Cemetery
under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Kent died Monday, March
17, 2014 in San Angelo, TX.
Kent was born February 16, 1958 in Nocona, the son of Everett C. “Freddie” and Cleda Pauline (Carson) Lyons. After attending school in Saint Jo, he moved to San Angelo in 1997. Country music always brought Kent lots of enjoyment, especially George Jones.
Kent is survived by his brother, Dalton and wife, Cindy, of Saint Jo; his nephews: Rusty and Jody Lyons of Saint Jo; niece: Marty Bugg and husband, Brad, of Saint Jo; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Freddie and Pauline (Carson) Lyons. Pallbearers were: Jerry Don Hester, Arlie Stogner, Rusty Lyons, Jody Lyons, Brad Bugg, Rod Hoover, Clint Thurman, and Craig McCrary.
