Helen Yosten

Helen Marie (Arend) Yosten, age 86 of Muenster passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home in Muenster.
Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Muenster. A Rosary & Vigil will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 also at the church.
Helen Marie (Arend) Yosten was born August 2, 1928 in Durant, Oklahoma to Helena Marie (Rauschuber) and Nicholas J. Arend. She married Roman Lawrence Yosten and they became the proud parents of eleven children.
Known as the "Garden Lady", Helen loved working in her multiple gardens. In late fall, she spent many hours picking up pecans. Her children and grandchildren were often with her and have fond memories of days spent outdoors with picnic lunches. Helen also enjoyed the competition of card games and called for a game after many family meals. At the heart of all Helen said and did was her devotion to the Catholic faith as she trusted her life to God daily.
Helen is survived by her eleven children: Janice Zordell of Russell, KS, Ruth and husband, Pat Klement of Muenster, Maryann Sheaff of Denton, Vivian and husband, Bill Thacker of Sherman, Lanie and husband John Bartush of Muenster, Connie and husband, Rafael Nieto of Leander, TX, Christy and husband, Allen Bayer of Denton, Ann and husband, Charles Boles of Lindsay, Matthew and wife, Mary Anne Yosten of Sulphur Springs, TX, Martin Yosten of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Bernard Yosten of Sulphur Springs, TX; forty-eight grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law: Kitty Arend, Peg Arend, and Fran Arend; and brother-in-law, Buddy Yosten. She was preceded in death by her husband Roman Lawrence Yosten, sisters: Florence Rauschuber and Mary Frances Stobaugh; and her brothers: Fred, Nick, John, Richard, and William Arend.
Pallbearers were: Darren Klement, John A. Klement, Richie Yosten, John D. Bartush, Aaron Thacker, Adam Boles, Valerie Bartush, Helen Lara, Martin Brungardt, and Rafael Nieto.

Virginia "Sue" Lamkin Hare

     Memorial Services for Virginia Sue Lamkin Hare, (Sue) age 79 of Saint Jo are set for 4:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. Sue lost her 8 year battle with Alzheimer's at 12:15 PM, Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Grace Care Center of Nocona. Services will be officiated by Ralph Gourley, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Muenster.  The family invites you to join us to celebrate her life.
     Born on January 29, 1936, Sue was one of the 4 children of William Harvey and Lennie Delene Lamkin. She grew up near Bowie and then later moved to Saint Jo (Montague and Cooke Counties). She graduated high school from Bowie, TX.
     Sue married Thomas Preston Hare (Tommy) September 2, 1960 in Gainesville, TX. They were the parents of a son, Leslie Carl. Sue worked for the Saint Jo Bank for many years. The family lived on a cattle ranch near the Red River close to Bulcher in Cooke County.
     Sue was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was her granddaughter, Rachel.
     Sue is survived by her son, Leslie Carl Hare of Nocona, a granddaughter, Rachel Hare and a daughter-in-law, J’Lynn Hare Olah of Muenster; two sisters: Carol Ann Lamkin Carter of Olathe, KS, Judy Kay Lamkin Duke of Tioga, TX; and one brother, Harvey Lynn Lamkin of Muenster, TX.
     Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Preston Hare in 2013 and her parents, William Harvey Lamkin and Lennie Delene Bowerman Lamkin.
     The family requests memorials be made to the Montague County Home Hospice or the Grace Care Centers of Nocona.



Tammy Brown


     Mass of Christian Burial for Tammy Sue Brown, age 49 of Nocona, is set for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Muenster. A Rosary and Vigil will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday at Scott Funeral Home of Muenster. Tammy Sue died Sunday, June 21, 2015.
     Tammy Sue (Grewing) Brown was one of nine children. She was born to Anthony Fred and Janie (Henscheid) Grewing on April 3, 1966 in Muenster. She attended and graduated Sacred Heart School and was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
     Tammy was a Certified Nurses’ Aide and worked many years as a cook at the Center restaurant. She also worked at Boeing and recently at Muenster Memorial Hospital as a dietary aide, where she made lifelong friends.
     Tammy loved spending time with her siblings and friends on their many trips to the lake camping and fishing. She loved her numerous pets, being at the river and the lake and working in her flower beds and yard. Tammy loved to cook and can vegetables from her garden. It meant so much to her to have so many people pray for her and show her so much love and support during her fight with cancer and for that she was truly grateful.
     Tammy is survived by her: husband, Billy Brown of Nocona; mother: Linda Luttmer; son, Taylor Scott-Thomas Haster of Fort Worth; sisters: Julie Ann and husband, Greg Walterscheid of Highland Village, Shawna Marie Herr of Muenster, Michelle Gray of Muenster, and Katherine Luttmer of Muenster; brothers: Tony and wife, Billie Grewing of Muenster, Jon and wife, Janette of Muenster, Kenneth and wife, Katie Grewing of Muenster and Matthew Grewing and Anna McCourry of Muenster; and seventeen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
     Pallbearers are: brothers: Tony Grewing, Jon Grewing, Kenneth Grewing, and Matthew Grewing, Godson, Eric Walterscheid, and Stepson, Michael Brown.


Clay Richerson

Funeral services for Clay Richerson, age 55 of Muenster are set for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Muenster with Rev. Ralph Gourley officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2015 at the church. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Mr. Richerson died at his home on June 22, 2015.
Born on September 27, 1959 in Pampa, TX, Clay Loren Richerson was one of the three children of Dale and Venita (Cowan) Richerson. He graduated from Fritch High School in 1978 and attended West Texas State University from 1978 to 1982. He married Kenet Baker in Canyon, TX on March 12, 1983. Their two children, Kara and Ryan, were born while the family lived in Pampa, TX.
Clay received his Master’s Degree in Education from Sul Ross University in 1999. He was a coach and administrator in various Panhandle and South Plains schools during his career. His last position was Superintendent at Muenster ISD until his retirement in 2014.
Clay was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He also enjoyed attending the many athletic events at Muenster ISD and cooking many hamburgers while tailgating at the Muenster football games. Clay also enjoyed preparing smoked hams for family and friends during the holidays. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Muenster.
Clay was a strong man who fought the disease of cancer for many years but finally succumbed to this disease after a long and hard fought battle.
Clay is survived by: his wife, Kenet (Baker) Richerson of Muenster; children: Kara and husband, Patrick Wyatt of Garland, TX and Ryan Richerson of Lubbock, TX; sister: Rene and husband, Joe Parker of Fritch, TX; brother, Scott and wife, Kellie Richerson of Stillwater, OK; father, Dale and wife, Edith Richerson of Fritch, TX; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ken and Louise Baker of Canyon, TX; and sister-in-law, Kim and husband, Ron Campbell of Canyon, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vernita (Cowan) Richerson.

Lewis Martin

Lewis Guild Martin, 87, of Saint Jo, Texas, died Thursday, June 18, 2015.
An internment service was held at Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo on Friday, June 19, 2015 burial followed in the Mountain Park Cemetery.  A memorial service was held in Bowie on Saturday, June 20. Both services were officiated by Pastor Joe Gambill.
Lewis Martin was born March 11, 1928 to Emmett Otis and Ruth Guild Martin in Three Sands, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Cushing High School, the University of Texas-Austin, and Southern Methodist University.  Lewis served as a Marine and was a long-time Rotarian, and member of the Masonic lodge.  Lewis worked for many years as a real-estate appraiser in the Dallas metroplex.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lucie (Meador) Martin; a daughter, Sarah (Martin) Naper (and husband, Matthew), in Buda; a son, Thomas Martin (and wife, Melissa), in Henrietta; a son, Michael Martin (and wife, Laurie), in St. Jo; a brother, John Martin (and wife, Shirley), in Camas, WA; a brother-in-law, William Thomas Meador, in St. Jo; a sister-in-law, Martha Martin, in Antrim, NH; four grandchildren (Emma, Grace, Callie, and Samuel); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Bowie, TX or to the Saint Jo Public Library.

Daniel (Danny) Smith, Jr.

  A graveside service for Daniel “Danny” Smith, Jr. is set for 2:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2015 at Fair View Cemetery in Gainesville, TX with Rev. Sam Campbell officiating and under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. Danny died in a hospital in Lexington, KY on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
  Danny was born August 5, 1959 in Electra, TX. He was the only son of Daniel and Evelyn (Roberson) Smith. Danny was raised in Gainesville and after graduating from high school, he obtained Computer Operations Certificate from Texas State Technical College. He worked for IBM for a number of years and that job took him to Lexington, KY where he chose to make his home. He later went into business for himself as a photographer, a profession he dearly loved. He was an avid reader and loved many subjects. Danny loved to write and took a writing course. He wrote a lot of short stories and shared them with his friends.
  Danny was richly blessed with many friends in his chose home of Lexington. He considered them his family. He is survived by his cousins and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Evelyn (Roberson) Smith.

Delanne Marie Walterscheid

      Mass of Christian Burial for Delanne Marie Walterscheid, age 52 of Muenster is set for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Muenster. A Rosary and Vigil will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the church. Mrs. Walterscheid died Saturday, June 6, 2015.
       Delanne Marie Walterscheid was born January 23, 1963 in Rockwall, Texas. She leaves behind husband, Bert Walterscheid of Muenster, daughters: Kendra Walterscheid of Muenster, Emily and Daniel Fuhrmann of Muenster, Gayle and Chris Bevers of Muenster; and son, Justin Walterscheid of Muenster. She also leaves behind two granddaughters: Kylee Walterscheid and Kate Fuhrmann; two grandsons: Ethan Bevers and Colt Walterscheid; brother, Brad Walterscheid of Waxahachie and sister, Michele Green of Waxahachie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Gerrie (Trubenbach) Walterscheid.
       In 1981, at the beginning of her senior year, Delanne was injured in a vehicle accident, which left her a quadriplegic. She married Bert Walterscheid on May 23, 1988.
     Although she was in a wheelchair the rest of her life, she never let it slow her down. When her daughter, Kendra, started showing goats with 4H, Delanne could be seen in her electric wheelchair so that Bert would not have to push her.
     Delanne loved helping out at the Muenster Volunteer Fire Department, where Bert is the Fire Chief. She helped run the auction for 18 years raising thousands of dollars. She was the treasurer of the local Catholic Life branch.
     Even though Delanne seemed to always be busy, her kids came before anyone. She loved camping and fishing anywhere but especially Red River, NM.
     Delanne will be truly missed by anyone who ever met her.
