Mass of Christian Burial
is set for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Muenster with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred
Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Muenster. A Rosary
& Vigil will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 also at the church.
Helen Marie (Arend) Yosten
was born August 2, 1928 in Durant, Oklahoma to Helena Marie (Rauschuber) and
Nicholas J. Arend. She married Roman Lawrence Yosten and they became the proud
parents of eleven children.
Known as the "Garden
Lady", Helen loved working in her multiple gardens. In late fall, she
spent many hours picking up pecans. Her children and grandchildren were often
with her and have fond memories of days spent outdoors with picnic lunches.
Helen also enjoyed the competition of card games and called for a game after
many family meals. At the heart of all Helen said and did was her devotion to
the Catholic faith as she trusted her life to God daily.
Helen is survived by her
eleven children: Janice Zordell of Russell, KS, Ruth and husband, Pat Klement
of Muenster, Maryann Sheaff of Denton, Vivian and husband, Bill Thacker of
Sherman, Lanie and husband John Bartush of Muenster, Connie and husband, Rafael
Nieto of Leander, TX, Christy and husband, Allen Bayer of Denton, Ann and
husband, Charles Boles of Lindsay, Matthew and wife, Mary Anne Yosten of
Sulphur Springs, TX, Martin Yosten of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Bernard Yosten
of Sulphur Springs, TX; forty-eight grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren;
one great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law: Kitty Arend, Peg Arend, and Fran Arend;
and brother-in-law, Buddy Yosten. She was preceded in death by her husband
Roman Lawrence Yosten, sisters: Florence Rauschuber and Mary Frances Stobaugh;
and her brothers: Fred, Nick, John, Richard, and William Arend.
Pallbearers were: Darren
Klement, John A. Klement, Richie Yosten, John D. Bartush, Aaron Thacker, Adam
Boles, Valerie Bartush, Helen Lara, Martin Brungardt, and Rafael Nieto.
