Lewis Guild Martin, 87, of
Saint Jo, Texas, died Thursday, June 18, 2015.
An internment service was
held at Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo on Friday, June 19, 2015 burial followed
in the Mountain Park Cemetery. A
memorial service was held in Bowie on Saturday, June 20. Both services were
officiated by Pastor Joe Gambill.
Lewis Martin was born
March 11, 1928 to Emmett Otis and Ruth Guild Martin in Three Sands, Oklahoma.
He was a graduate of Cushing High School, the University of Texas-Austin, and
Southern Methodist University. Lewis
served as a Marine and was a long-time Rotarian, and member of the Masonic
lodge. Lewis worked for many years as a
real-estate appraiser in the Dallas metroplex.
He is survived by his wife
of 52 years, Lucie (Meador) Martin; a daughter, Sarah (Martin) Naper (and
husband, Matthew), in Buda; a son, Thomas Martin (and wife, Melissa), in
Henrietta; a son, Michael Martin (and wife, Laurie), in St. Jo; a brother, John
Martin (and wife, Shirley), in Camas, WA; a brother-in-law, William Thomas
Meador, in St. Jo; a sister-in-law, Martha Martin, in Antrim, NH; four
grandchildren (Emma, Grace, Callie, and Samuel); and numerous nieces and
nephews.
