Services for Patricia Ann Sampson Weatherread, age 56 of Saint Jo were
conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in
Saint Jo. Services were officiated by Rev. Jeff Roe and directed by McCoy
Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Burial followed at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint
Jo. Mrs. Weatherread died on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Pecan Tree
Manor.
Born May 19, 1957 in Muenster, Patricia was one of the twelve children of Jesse “Bud” and Audrey Graham Sampson. She married Wayne Weatherread on April 5, 1986 in Saint Jo. They were the proud parents of one child, Randal Lynn Sampson.
Patricia was a loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy was taking care of her home and family. She also enjoyed riding with Wayne in his truck and seeing much of the country. After Wayne’s passing, she was a hard worker in her community especially whenever one of her neighbors needed assistance. She was always one of the first to volunteer to water plants, pet sit or whatever anyone might need. Children were a special joy in her life and she spent many hours keeping them.
Patricia attended First Baptist Church for quite some time. As she learned of the severity of her illness, she was certain of her faith and was often heard saying her next house would be “a heavenly mansion on streets made of gold!” She will never be forgotten for her friendly smile by her family, friends and those who knew her.
Patricia is survived by: her mother, Audrey Leverne Graham Sampson of Gainesville; her son: Randal Lynn Sampson of Saint Jo; her brothers: Jesse Sampson of Saint Jo, Gary Sampson and wife Evette of Nocona, David Sampson and wife Sarah of Nocona, Frankie Sampson, Jeff Sampson and wife Linda of Bowie, and Dean Sampson of Nocona; her sisters: Linda Sampson Romine of Fort Worth, Debra and Jackie Husband of Gainesville, Belinda Sampson Holman and husband Rick of Saint Jo, Leisa Sewell of Gainesville and Kay Sampson and Nolin of Gainesville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Wayne Weatherread and father, Jesse “Bud” Sampson.
Pallbearers were: Michael Sampson, Jesse Sampson, Harold Sewell, Jonathan Sewell, Dean Sampson, and Boomer Weatherread.
