Geraldine Dunn Young Cook

     Graveside services for Geraldine E. Cook, age 92 of Saint Jo are set for 10:00 AM Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Dye Mound Cemetery. Services are officiated by CE Cole and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Mrs. Cook died Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Wichita Falls.
     Born March 15, 1921 in Peabody, Texas, Geraldine was a daughter of William Albert and Georgia Gladys Dunn. She was raised in the Peabody area where she attended school and helped with the farm work. She completed school in Saint Jo. After school, she was busy selling Stanley and Mary Kay products.
     Geraldine married Leon Young on June 22, 1940. They continued living in the Peabody area. She kept busy then by being a homemaker and keeping books for Leon. They were the parents of 2 sons.
     After Leon’s death on February 7, 1992, Geraldine married Coy Cook on December 7, 2000. Coy died on December 9, 2009.
     Geraldine was very active in Church of Christ activities. Her lifelong hobbies and things of interest included sewing (mainly making her own clothes), quilting and gardening. She raised vegetables in the garden for family food, but, her main interest was in growing and caring for flowers. She also, on occasion, accompanied Leon on hunting trips in Colorado. There they hunted mule deer and elk.
     Geraldine was extremely close to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by them and her friends.

     Geraldine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Arlene Young, numerous grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leon Young: husband: Coy Cook; son: Bobby Young; sisters: Chancey Carlton and Jewel Edes and great grandson: Tyler Young.
