Patricia Ann Sampson Weatherread

     Funeral Services for Patricia Ann Sampson Weatherread, age 56 of Saint Jo were conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Saint Jo. Services were officiated by Rev. Jeff Roe and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Burial followed at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo. Mrs. Weatherread died on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Pecan Tree Manor.
     Born May 19, 1957 in Muenster, Patricia was one of the twelve children of Jesse “Bud” and Audrey Graham Sampson. She married Wayne Weatherread on April 5, 1986 in Saint Jo. They were the proud parents of one child, Randal Lynn Sampson.
     Patricia was a loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy was taking care of her home and family. She also enjoyed riding with Wayne in his truck and seeing much of the country. After Wayne’s passing, she was a hard worker in her community especially whenever one of her neighbors needed assistance. She was always one of the first to volunteer to water plants, pet sit or whatever anyone might need. Children were a special joy in her life and she spent many hours keeping them.
     Patricia attended First Baptist Church for quite some time. As she learned of the severity of her illness, she was certain of her faith and was often heard saying her next house would be “a heavenly mansion on streets made of gold!” She will never be forgotten for her friendly smile by her family, friends and those who knew her.
     Patricia is survived by: her mother, Audrey Leverne Graham Sampson of Gainesville; her son: Randal Lynn Sampson of Saint Jo; her brothers: Jesse Sampson of Saint Jo, Gary Sampson and wife Evette of Nocona, David Sampson and wife Sarah of Nocona, Frankie Sampson, Jeff Sampson and wife Linda of Bowie, and Dean Sampson of Nocona; her sisters: Linda Sampson Romine of Fort Worth, Debra and Jackie Husband of Gainesville, Belinda Sampson Holman and husband Rick of Saint Jo, Leisa Sewell of Gainesville and Kay Sampson and Nolin of Gainesville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Wayne Weatherread and father, Jesse “Bud” Sampson.
     Pallbearers were: Michael Sampson, Jesse Sampson, Harold Sewell, Jonathan Sewell, Dean Sampson, and Boomer Weatherread.

Leonard "Spike" Yosten

     Mass of Christian Burial for Leonard “Spike” Yosten was held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster. A Rosary/Vigil was held 6:00 PM Friday at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Ken Robinson officiating. Services were directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster. Mr. Yosten died on June 19, 2013 at Muenster Memorial Hospital.
     Born December 19, 1913 in Muenster, Spike was the fourth of nine children of Robert and Agnes (Swirczynski) Yosten. Spike was raised on a farm near Muenster. He attended Sacred Heart School.
     Leonard “Spike” and Frances “Girlie” were married July 27, 1942 at Sacred Heart Church. They were the parents of 2 sons and 3 daughters. Spike started work for Trumter Petroleum Corporation in 1937. He worked his way up to Assistant Superintendent in 1950, and General Superintendent in 1961, a position he held until retirement in 1985 after 47 years.
     Spike loved to travel, to tinker with motors, to garden and to play sheephead with family.
     Survivors include his daughters and sons in law: Susie and David Bullion of Austin, TX, Debbie and Stuart Bradford of Austin, TX, Diane and Jim Grewing of Muenster, TX, his sons and daughter-in-law: David Yosten of Plano, TX and John and Pat Yosten of Muenster, TX: brother: Lee Roy “Buddy” Yosten of Muenster. There are 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Girlie, parents, Robert and Agnes (Swirczynski) Yosten, 2 sisters: Angeline Reiter and Dorothy Holland; brothers: Al Yosten, Stan Yosten, Paul Yosten, Martin Yosten, and Larry Yosten; and daughter-in-law: Susie Yosten.

     Pallbearers were: Terry Yosten, Aaron Grewing, Michael Grewing, Jackson Bradford, Ted Yosten, Paula Yosten, Sam Bradford, and Shane Bullion.

Jamie Lyn Cox

     Graveside Services for Jamie Lynn Cox, age 49 of Gainesville were set for 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Rosston Cemetery in Rosston, Texas. Services were officiated by Rev. Bill Kimbley and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Visitation was at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM.
     Mr. Cox died on Saturday after a lengthy illness June 15, 2013 in Corinth, Texas.
     Born October 15, 1963 in Littlefield, Texas. Jamie was one of the two children of Linda Maughan and Jerry Lee Cox. He had attended Bula school and graduated from Sudan High School in 1982. He then graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas with a degree in Communication Graphics in 1987.
     Jamie moved to the Dallas Area becoming a resident of Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville. He had worked for some time as a sign maker and was a great artist.
     Survivors include: mother and stepfather, Linda and J.C. Maughan; father and spouse Jerry Lee and Patty Cox of Bula, TX; sister Danene Dirickson of Forestburg; nephew, Daniel Dirickson of Forestburg. He was preceded in death by: maternal grandparents: Morris and Gladys Phillips and paternal grandparents: Cecil & Lorene Cox and Harvey Whittenburg.

Lenard Green

     Graveside Services for Lenard Green, age 63 of Saint Jo were held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 17, 2013 at Mountain Park Cemetery, Saint Jo, Texas. Services were officiated by Rev. Sam Campbell and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. The visitation was at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM. Lenard died at 12:05 PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at his residence.
     Born August 16, 1949 in Michigan City, Indiana, Lenard was one of the 6 children of Albert F. and Balbina Green. He married Alene Lee on December 21, 1979 in Nocona. He had lived most of his adult life in the Saint Jo area. Lenard loved to work on cars. He worked several years as an auto body repairman in Nocona and then operated his own shop in Saint Jo. He always had family barbeques when all of the kids were young. Fourth of July was always a big event with several hundred dollars of fireworks shot off every year. Lenard loved to go fishing and getting in the car for Sunday drives, never knowing where they would wind up.
     Lenard is survived by his children: Mickie Romer and fiancĂ© Wayne Kenyon of Iowa Park, Kathy and Ricky Davenport of Justin, Kay and Kirk Kelly of Justin, Brenda Furgeson of Fort Worth, Denise Cooper, Terry and Allan Malonson, and Doug Romer, all of Katy, TX; sisters and spouses: Barbara Frazier of Indiana; Debra and Ed Cook of Indiana; brothers and spouses: Ray and Diane Green of Gainesville, Al and Susan Green of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; and best friends James and Loretta Parmer of Saint Jo.
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Alene; his parents: Albert and Balbina Green; his baby daughter: April; and his sister Mary Ann Green.

Lucian A. Vaughn

     Funeral services for Lucian A. Vaughn, age 94 of Saint Jo were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Saint Jo First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Illinois Bend Cemetery, in Montague County. Services were officiated by Rev. Darius McKay and Rev. Jeff Roe and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Lucian died in Denton at 1:03 AM Sunday, June 2, 2013.
     Born May 22, 1919 in Illinois Bend, Lucian was an only child of E.E. and Minnie Sue Harmon Vaughn. He grew up on the family farm/ranch and graduated high school in Saint Jo. While growing up, Lucian helped his father with farming and raising cattle. He had lived all his life in the Saint Jo/Illinois Bend area prior to entering Cottonwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Denton.
     Lucian married Nancy Ovie Howard on September 30, 1939 in Montague, Texas. They lived together in the Saint Jo area until her death in 1999.
     Lucian and Ovie were the parents of a daughter, Audette and a son, Lucian, Jr. The two children grew up and completed high school in Saint Jo.
     Lucian really enjoyed his family and friends. He would meet daily at the Saint Jo Dairy Queen just to have coffee with, share “lies” with and argue with the daily crew there. He was a long-longtime member of the Montague County School Board. The only reason he departed that board was because it disbanded. He was a lover of horses and was a member of the Saint Jo Riding Club from its onset until just recently, when he was moved to Denton.
     Lucian lived a good long life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
     Survivors are his: daughter and son-in-law Audette and William H. Kincaid of Sanger; son and daughter-in-law Lucian, Jr. and Valerie Vaughn of Gainesville; five grandchildren: Lauren and Travis Vaughn, Cheryl-Annette Parker, Christina Freeman and Sharlene Kincaid; and 2 great grandchildren: Rylan Parker and Lillie Audette Freeman.
     Lucian was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ovie Vaughn and his parents, E.E. and Minnie Vaughn.
     Pallbearers were: Craig McCrary, Dalton Lyons, Dudley Sparkman, Ross Felderhoff, Loyd Hutson, Ancil Thurman, and Dave Webster. Honorary Pallbearers were: JC Dunbar, James Cooksey, Doyle Castle, Noble Coker, Bob Ayers, Gene Parker, and Roy Brawner.
     The family requests memorials be made to a charity of your choice.

Kathryn “Kate” Rohmer Sepanski Voth

     A memorial mass for Kathryn “Kate” Rohmer Sepanski Voth, age 27 of Austin (formerly of Muenster) was held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster. Services were officiated by Rev. Ken Robinson and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster. “Kate” died on June 1, 2013 in Austin, Texas.
     Kate was born on March 27, 1986 in Dallas. She was one of the 7 children born to Robert E. and Linda Sepanski. Kate graduated salutatorian and Miss Sacred Heart from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 2004. She excelled in academics, track, singing in the a capella choir, cheer leading and mentoring her peers. She attended St. Edward’s University, graduating summa cum laude with a major in English Writing and Rhetoric. She was then employed with the Austin Board of Realtors and was as their first Social media and online Community Manager. She, this year, was awarded the Women Communicators of Austin Presidents Award. Kate always displayed her love and compassion for others with her optimistic attitude. She had served as an Emerging Leader advisory Member at Concordia University. She was first to receive the SOS Leadership Institute Leading Lady of Inspiration Award. Her Team Kate participated in the 2013 Livestrong marathon. Her devotion to running (denied by her pain of cancer) had inspired 119 people to participate in the event in her stead. Team Kate became the largest team and highest money raiser in Livestrong Austin history.
     Kate and her loving husband (becoming sweethearts in high school) were married on June 14, 2008 in Sacred Heart. She was diagnosed that same year with melanoma. Mike gave her his unfailing love and support throughout the remainder of her life.
     Kate is survived by her: husband, Michael Voth of Austin; parents Robert E. and Linda Sepanski of Muenster; sisters and spouses: Sara Sepanski of Washington, DC, Lauren Ortega and Lorenzo of Austin; brothers and spouses: Robert J. and Laurie Sepanski of Grapevine, John and Laurie Sepanski of Yorktown, Virginia, Thomas and Janet Sepanski of Fort Worth, Michael and Roni Sepanski of Richmond, Virginia; grandmother Imelda Rohmer of Muenster; Michael’s family: parents Danny and Janet Voth of Muenster; his sister, Debra and Jason Sicking; grandmothers Regina Pels and Lou Voth; and 16 nieces and nephews.
     Kate’s courage, grace and spirit while dealing with her long and debilitating pain were a continual source of inspiration to family, friends and all who knew her. She will always be loved and greatly missed!
     The family requests memorials be made to: Sacred Heart Trust Fund and Sacred Heart School. For other memorials, please indicate “For the wishes of the family” on the envelope.
