Kenneth "Kenny" Michael Yosten

    1951 - 2015
     Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth “Kenny” Michael Yosten, age 64 of Muenster was held 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Muenster. A Rosary and Vigil was held at 6:00 PM, Friday, May 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Mr. Yosten died Wednesday, May 21, 2015.
     Kenny, one of the nine boys of Werner John and Frances (Bengfort) Yosten, was born March 2, 1951 in Gainesville. After graduating from Muenster ISD in 1969, he went to work for Wilde Chevrolet in Muenster which helped begin his lifelong career in auto repair. After moving to Plano, he went to work as the Parts Manager for Lange Jaguar and later for Crest Cadillac of Plano. Kenny loved to go fishing and work on cars in his spare time.
     Kenny is survived by his mother, Frances Yosten of Muenster; brothers: Danny and wife, Patricia Jo Yosten of Ohio, Steve and wife, Janice Yosten of Muenster, Chris Yosten of Muenster, Ronald Yosten of Muenster, Mark and wife, Danette Yosten of Wylie, James and wife, Susan Yosten of Muenster, and Joseph and wife, Michele Yosten of Valley View; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Werner Yosten and his brother, Jerome Yosten.
     Pallbearers were Caleb Yosten, Adam Yosten, Matthew Yosten, Aarron Yosten, Bradley Yosten, Jeremy Yosten, Nick Yosten, Jonathan Yosten, and Andrew Yosten.

Floyd Tolbert Rains

     1941 - 2015

     A visitation for Floyd Rains, age 73 of Montague, Texas is set for 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. Mr. Rains died at his home on May 12, 2015.
     One of seven children, Floyd was born in Lexington, Oklahoma on August 19, 1941 to George and Emmie (Davis) Rains. He was a simple man with simple ways, where a man’s handshake was all he needed to seal a deal. He had a great love and admiration for all horses and several throughout his life. We would personally like to thank those old farmers and ranchers that he had biscuits and gravy with every morning at Dairy Queen for being such good friends to our dad and last but not least, the love of his life Joan Maxwell – God bless you all for just being his friend. Dad was a wonderful man with a huge heart and will be missed forever.
     “Get on that horse and ride like the wind.”
     Floyd is survived by his daughters: Debbie and husband, Adrian Moore of Montague, Linda Clark of Dallas, and Traci and husband, Ty Carter of Montague; sons: Richard and wife, Shawna Erwin of Indiana and Chris Rains of Florida; numerous granddaughters, grandsons, great granddaughters, great grandsons, nieces and nephews; siblings: Georgia, Leo and wife, Mary, and Donny and wife, Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Emily Farrow, brothers: Gerald Rains and Carl Rains, and son, James Erwin.

Irene Eva Luttmer Sicking

     1921 - 2015
     A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene Eva Luttmer Sicking is set for 10:00 AM, Monday, May 11, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Muenster. A Rosary & Vigil will be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the funeral home in Muenster. Mrs. Sicking died Friday, May 8, 2015.
     Mrs. Sicking was born in Gainesville on November 11, 1921 to John and Mary Luttmer. She was a simple and quiet woman who was a hard worker. She loved flowers, gardens, animals and working on a dairy farm.
     She is survived by her: daughter, Doris and husband Cecil Hermes of Sherman; son, Don Sicking of Myra; three grandchildren: JoAnn Beaty, Doug Hermes, and Gina Robinson; six great grandchildren: DeAnn Beaty, Jalaina Beaty, Brittany Beaty, Luke Robinson, Anthony Robinson, and Rachel Hermes; and two great great-grandchildren: Taylor and Parker Skipworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Luttmer; husband, Alfred Sicking; sisters: Gertie and Elsie; brothers: Arthur, Joe, and Leonard Luttmer; daughter, Lynette and son, Alvin.
     Pallbearers were: Riley Beaty, Cliff Sicking, Keneth Sicking, David Sicking, Jimmy Mosman, and Don Mosman.

Agnella "Nellie" Ann Martin

     1923 - 2015
     Funeral services for Agnella "Nellie" Martin, 91 of Muenster are set for 10 A.M., Saturday May 9, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster, with Fr. Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Muenster. Visitation and Rosary is set for 5 P.M. Friday, May 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
     Mrs. Martin died May 6, 2015 in Denton. She was born on August 28, 1923, on the Pels Farm northwest of Muenster. She married Lawrence Martin on August 27, 1947 at Sacred Heart Church.
     Nellie was a cook at the Sacred Heart lunch room for 39 years retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Saint Anne's Society and the VFW Auxiliary. Her hobbies included crocheting, bird watching, cooking and baking, playing games, listening to the Rustler's Band, and spending time with her grandchildren.
     Nellie is survived by her: children: Douglas Martin and wife Laura of Myra, Ernest Martin and wife Laneta of Muenster, and Estelle Gilpin and husband Ike of Lindsay; grandchildren Joey Martin and wife Jeanie of Gainesville, Yvonne Sandmann & husband Nathan of Valley View, Crystal Bryant and husband Adam of Valley View, Ronnie Ray Whitford and wife Tabatha of Crowley, Josh Whitford and wife Patti of Burkburnett, and Pete Abbott of Atlanta, Georgia; great grandchildren Caleb and Chloe Sandmann, Kenzie Stapelton, Wes Abbott, Tara Abbott. Toby and Zoey Whitford, Aspen, Kady, Hayden and Chayce Whitford, and Parish Whitford; 7 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Clara Walterscheid, and sister-in-law Regina Pels. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Martin; parents Henry and Anna Lummel Pels; sisters: Theresa Muller, Marie Knauf, Esther Weske, Sister Imelda Pels, and Leona Pels; brothers Ed and Henry Pels, and grandson, Russell Abbott.
     Pallbearers were: Joey Martin, Nathan Sandmann, Leon Knauf, Dave Muller, James Walterscheid, and Milton Knauf. Honorary pallbearers were Caleb Sandmann and Chloe Sandmann.

Melinda Carol Giffen

     1959 - 2015


     A memorial service for Melinda Carol Giffen, age 55 of Saint Jo was held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Saint Jo. Ms. Giffen died Tuesday, April 28, 2015.
     Melinda Carol Giffen was born June 22, 1959 to Robert and Marilyn Giffen in Sherman, Texas. She was the oldest of six children. Her father’s time in the military resulted in the family relocating several times before moving to Saint Jo when she was 10. She graduated from Saint Jo High School in 1977. She became a mother in 1979 with the birth of her daughter, Traci. In 1981, she attended nursing school at Bethesda School of Nursing in Wichita Falls. She relocated Ft. Worth in 1985, where she raised her daughter. For 13 years she was able to care for people through the field of nursing. She then pursued other avenues of benevolence. She worked for the All Church Home for Children, then the Union Gospel Mission serving the homeless. She worked at Sagamore Hill Baptist church as the Children’s director, and in the last years of her life she served those in need as a case manager for the Department of Human Services in Gainesville, Texas. Melinda took great joy in serving others. During her time as the Children’s Director at Sagamore Hill, she was able to serve numerous children and their families. She was genuinely interested and involved in helping all those around her reach their potential. In 2007, she reunited with an old friend John Reed. The two of them devoted their lives to each other. With this union Melinda gained another daughter, Davida Larkin. She was exceptionally creative and talented. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and in particular, crocheting afghans which she often gave to people she loved as gifts. She enjoyed her work and her family. Melinda loved John, her children and grandchildren with all her being. She loved everyone.
     Melinda is survived by the love of her life John Reed, daughters: Traci Wright, and her husband Karl and Davida Larkin and her husband Nick; grandchildren: Thad, Nathan, Katie, and Orion; sisters: Pamela Cavaness and her husband Ryan and Shirley Giffen; brothers: Paul Giffen and his wife Sharon and Ronny Giffen and his wife Carol, as well and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother David Giffen. Melinda touched lives and was loved by many. She will be deeply missed. Ethel Catherine Knabe Hennigan Bayer

     1939 - 2015
     Mass of Christian Burial for Ethel Catherine Knabe Hennigan Bayer, age 76 of Muenster is set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Muenster. A Rosary and Vigil will be held at 5:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015. Mrs. Bayer died Tuesday, April 28, 2015.
     Ethel was born on February 1, 1939 in Muenster, the second of the eight children of Robert and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Knabe, Sr. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1957 and married Fred Hennigan, Jr. on June 15, 1957 in Sacred Heart Church. The children attended Muenster schools and Saint Jo schools. Ethel worked in various jobs, lingerie factory in Saint Jo, Texas Bar, Muenster Dress Factory, Corley’s Grocery Store in Saint Jo, the Saint Jo Nursing Home and St. Richard’s Villa Nursing Home in Muenster. She was an active participant in Sacred Heart Church as a Eucharistic minister in the church and the nursing home. She was a member of the Muenster VFW Auxiliary #6205 and the Saint Anne’s Society, and Alter Society of Sacred Heart Church. She loved wild flowers and harvested them and tossed them in different country areas. She also liked birds, especially red birds and hummingbirds. She had a special way with the ill and elderly people and especially taking care of her deceased husband and father in the illness. She then married Daniel Bayer on October 21, 2000 in Sacred Heart Church and they made their home in Muenster.
     Mrs. Bayer is survived by her husband, Danny Bayer of Muenster; daughters: Diane Splawn of Muenster and Darlene and Gary Willett of Bowie; son, Billy Hennigan of Saint Jo; thirteen grandchildren: Leroy, Daniel, Samuel, Mathew, Conrad, Lydia, Joseph, Misty, Kristi, Bridget, Fred, Lauren, and Wade; eleven great grandchildren: Katie, Kylie, KK, Kylar, Keegan, Karman, Brookelyn, Brylie, and Baylie; sisters: Frances and Arthur Bayer of Muenster, Kathleen and Charles Hamilton of Myra, Mary and Billy Jack Deberry of Sherman, Barbara and Alfred Hacker of Valley View; brothers: Robert, Jr. and Rose Knabe of Alabama and Charles and Flora Mae Knabe of Muenster. She was preceded in death by her first husband Fred Hennigan, Jr., parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Knabe, Sr., son, Bobby Hennigan, and her brother Anthony (Tony) Knabe. Pallbearers were: Fred Ellis, Leroy Willett, Daniel Willett, Samuel Willet, Mathew Willet, and Conrad Willet. Honorary pallbearers were: Joseph Hennigan and Wade Trubenbach.
