A
visitation for Floyd Rains, age 73 of Montague, Texas is set for 11:00 AM to
2:00 PM, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. Mr.
Rains died at his home on May 12, 2015.
One
of seven children, Floyd was born in Lexington, Oklahoma on August 19, 1941 to
George and Emmie (Davis) Rains. He was a simple man with simple ways, where a
man’s handshake was all he needed to seal a deal. He had a great love and
admiration for all horses and several throughout his life. We would personally
like to thank those old farmers and ranchers that he had biscuits and gravy
with every morning at Dairy Queen for being such good friends to our dad and
last but not least, the love of his life Joan Maxwell – God bless you all for
just being his friend. Dad was a wonderful man with a huge heart and will be
missed forever.

Floyd
is survived by his daughters: Debbie and husband, Adrian Moore of Montague,
Linda Clark of Dallas, and Traci and husband, Ty Carter of Montague; sons:
Richard and wife, Shawna Erwin of Indiana and Chris Rains of Florida; numerous
granddaughters, grandsons, great granddaughters, great grandsons, nieces and
nephews; siblings: Georgia, Leo and wife, Mary, and Donny and wife, Phyllis. He
was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Emily Farrow, brothers: Gerald
Rains and Carl Rains, and son, James Erwin.
