Kathryn “Kate” Rohmer Sepanski Voth

A memorial mass for Kathryn “Kate” Rohmer Sepanski Voth, age 27 of Austin (formerly of Muenster) was held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster. Services were officiated by Rev. Ken Robinson and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster. “Kate” died on June 1, 2013 in Austin, Texas.
Kate was born on March 27, 1986 in Dallas. She was one of the 7 children born to Robert E. and Linda Sepanski. Kate graduated salutatorian and Miss Sacred Heart from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 2004. She excelled in academics, track, singing in the a capella choir, cheer leading and mentoring her peers. She attended St. Edward’s University, graduating summa cum laude with a major in English Writing and Rhetoric. She was then employed with the Austin Board of Realtors and was as their first Social media and online Community Manager. She, this year, was awarded the Women Communicators of Austin Presidents Award. Kate always displayed her love and compassion for others with her optimistic attitude. She had served as an Emerging Leader advisory Member at Concordia University. She was first to receive the SOS Leadership Institute Leading Lady of Inspiration Award. Her Team Kate participated in the 2013 Livestrong marathon. Her devotion to running (denied by her pain of cancer) had inspired 119 people to participate in the event in her stead. Team Kate became the largest team and highest money raiser in Livestrong Austin history.
Kate and her loving husband (becoming sweethearts in high school) were married on June 14, 2008 in Sacred Heart. She was diagnosed that same year with melanoma. Mike gave her his unfailing love and support throughout the remainder of her life.
Kate is survived by her: husband, Michael Voth of Austin; parents Robert E. and Linda Sepanski of Muenster; sisters and spouses: Sara Sepanski of Washington, DC, Lauren Ortega and Lorenzo of Austin; brothers and spouses: Robert J. and Laurie Sepanski of Grapevine, John and Laurie Sepanski of Yorktown, Virginia, Thomas and Janet Sepanski of Fort Worth, Michael and Roni Sepanski of Richmond, Virginia; grandmother Imelda Rohmer of Muenster; Michael’s family: parents Danny and Janet Voth of Muenster; his sister, Debra and Jason Sicking; grandmothers Regina Pels and Lou Voth; and 16 nieces and nephews.
Kate’s courage, grace and spirit while dealing with her long and debilitating pain were a continual source of inspiration to family, friends and all who knew her. She will always be loved and greatly missed!
