David Ward Boone

     Funeral services for David Ward Boone, age 79 of Fort Worth and formerly from Saint Jo, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Saint Jo First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon Sunday at the funeral home. Services are officiated by Rev. Darius McKay and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Mr. Boone died December 12, 2013 in Fort Worth.
     Born July 15, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas, David was one of three children born to Daniel and Elizabeth Boone. He was raised and graduated high school in Saint Jo. He then attended TCU and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth. After college, David entered into the US Army for a two year tour. There, he became a training instructor and also flew the remote controlled targets (RCAT) for training missile units.
     David, after the army tour, began working for Texas Instruments where he worked for 33 years. Much of this time, he was a group manager. He also, for some 21 years, was the owner of the Fort Worth Gasket Supply Company.
     David, while working with TI, was stationed in Taiwan. There he met the young lady, Chi-Yeh, that became his wife on February 7, 1984. They were married in Taipei, Taiwan. Together, they were the parents of 6 sons and 8 grandchildren.
     David was a lover of nature. He really enjoyed camping in Colorado, fishing, traveling with the family and some hunting with the boys. He was a loving husband and father and a friend to many.
     David is survived by his: wife, Chi-Yeh of Fort Worth; sons: David of Colorado Springs, Edwin and Andy of Austin, Danny of Houston, Derek of Fort Worth, and Tony of Colorado; sister: Cathy Bourgeois of Dallas; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Elizabeth Boone and brother, Daniel Boone.
