Dawn Allen, 77, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Mount Olivet Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m.
Friday, November 21, 2014 at Mount Olivet and 3 p.m. Saturday, November 22,
2014 at Scott Funeral Home, St. Jo. Interment to follow at Dye Mound Cemetery
under the direction of Scott Funeral Home of Muenster.
Dallie was born May 29, 1937, in Decatur
to the late Alan and Inez Kuykendall. She attended Handley elementary school
and high school graduating in 1955. She was employed at Central Bank and Trust,
and later in 1969 worked as an executive secretary for Pritchard & Abbott
Appraisal Services for 31 years before her retirement. Dallie was a gifted
artist and oil painter who won many first place ribbons and sold her art in galleries
throughout Texas. She was a devoted wife and caretaker to her husband Ernest
throughout his lengthy illness. Dallie has many friends and family that loved
her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest O. Allen; and parents.
Survivors: Daughter, Tamara Allen; sister,
Bowery Prater; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved cat, Red.
