A graveside service for Daniel “Danny” Smith,
Jr. is set for 2:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2015 at Fair View Cemetery in
Gainesville, TX with Rev. Sam Campbell officiating and under the direction of
Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. Danny died in a hospital in Lexington, KY on
Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
Danny was born August 5, 1959 in Electra, TX.
He was the only son of Daniel and Evelyn (Roberson) Smith. Danny was raised in
Gainesville and after graduating from high school, he obtained Computer
Operations Certificate from Texas State Technical College. He worked for IBM
for a number of years and that job took him to Lexington, KY where he chose to
make his home. He later went into business for himself as a photographer, a
profession he dearly loved. He was an avid reader and loved many subjects. Danny
loved to write and took a writing course. He wrote a lot of short stories and
shared them with his friends.
Danny was richly blessed with many friends in
his chose home of Lexington. He considered them his family. He is survived by
his cousins and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Daniel and Evelyn (Roberson) Smith.
