Virginia "Sue" Lamkin Hare

     Memorial Services for Virginia Sue Lamkin Hare, (Sue) age 79 of Saint Jo are set for 4:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. Sue lost her 8 year battle with Alzheimer's at 12:15 PM, Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Grace Care Center of Nocona. Services will be officiated by Ralph Gourley, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Muenster.  The family invites you to join us to celebrate her life.
     Born on January 29, 1936, Sue was one of the 4 children of William Harvey and Lennie Delene Lamkin. She grew up near Bowie and then later moved to Saint Jo (Montague and Cooke Counties). She graduated high school from Bowie, TX.
     Sue married Thomas Preston Hare (Tommy) September 2, 1960 in Gainesville, TX. They were the parents of a son, Leslie Carl. Sue worked for the Saint Jo Bank for many years. The family lived on a cattle ranch near the Red River close to Bulcher in Cooke County.
     Sue was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was her granddaughter, Rachel.
     Sue is survived by her son, Leslie Carl Hare of Nocona, a granddaughter, Rachel Hare and a daughter-in-law, J’Lynn Hare Olah of Muenster; two sisters: Carol Ann Lamkin Carter of Olathe, KS, Judy Kay Lamkin Duke of Tioga, TX; and one brother, Harvey Lynn Lamkin of Muenster, TX.
     Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Preston Hare in 2013 and her parents, William Harvey Lamkin and Lennie Delene Bowerman Lamkin.
     The family requests memorials be made to the Montague County Home Hospice or the Grace Care Centers of Nocona.
