Hugh Emmett Hennessey

     Memorial services for Hugh Emmett Hennessey, age 68, of Saint Jo are set for 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Saint Jo. Services are officiated by Rev. Dan Sparkman. Mr. Hennessey died on December 25, 2013 at his home.
     Born June 7, 1945 in Silver Creek, New York, Mr. Hennessey was a son of Hugh Emmett and Helen Elizabeth Rowland, He graduated high school in Hayward, California and then earned his AA degree at Chabot College in Castro Valley, California. He served in the US Army for four years. He rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant and served much of his time in Korea.
     Hugh married Diana Harris on February 11, 1972 in Hayward, California. He became the proud father of three sons, grandfather of six and great grandfather of one.
     Hugh, for the past 25 plus years, has lived in Saint Jo. He had worked as a machinist for Weber Aircraft before his retirement.
     Hugh was a loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of them and friends.
     Hugh is survived by his wife, Diana of the home, sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Michelle Johnson of Nocona, Hugh E. II and Stephanie Hennessey of Saint Jo and Tim and Carla Hennessey of Saint Jo. Also surviving him is his sister, Diane Shannon of Grass Valley, California, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his mother-in-law, Edythe Harris of Saint Jo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Depree, brother, Thomas Hugh Rowland and brother-in-law, Thomas Howard Shannon and his parents, Hugh Emmett and Helen Elizabeth Rowland.

Florence Louise Schmitz Fisher

     Mass of Christian Burial for Florence Louise Schmitz Fisher, age 98 of Muenster, was set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster. A Rosary/Vigil was held at the funeral home at 6:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2013. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Services were officiated by Rev. Ken Robinson and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster. Florence died early Monday morning December 23, in Fort Worth.
     Florence was born on June 15, 1915 in Lindsay, Texas. She was the daughter of Joe and Mary Lang Schmitz. Her mother died when Florence was three year of age. Florence, her brother and father then moved to Southmayde. One year later, her father married Mary Roeder. After living in Southmayde for several years, they moved to Sherman where Florence attended grade school at Saint Joseph’s Academy. The family then moved to Muenster in November 1930. Florence then, in 1934, graduated from Muenster Public High School. She married Charlie Fisher on September 10, 1935 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family lived southeast of Muenster. There they became parents of two daughters, Mildred and Clara.
     Charlie, Florence and the two daughters bought a place and moved to the Valley View area, in 1938. A third daughter, Emma was born there in 1939. The family then, in 1944, returned to Muenster. There, Florence worked at the Muenster Memorial Hospital as a nurses’ aide. She continued employment there until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and Saint Anne’s Society and Sacred Heart Parish.
     Florence continued living on the farm after Charlie’s death in 1972. She then, in 1974, moved to her new home in Muenster where she had lived until moving in with Emma and Clara in Fort Worth. She had lived there for the past four years.
     Florence was a very sweet lady, a hard worker, a great family wife and mother and very dedicated to her religion. She will be greatly missed.
     Florence is survived by 3daughters: Mildred Shenk of Seal Beach, CA, Clara Fisher of Fort Worth, Emma Fisher of Fort Worth; 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; parents, Joe and Mary Schmitz; and a brother, Alphones Schmitz.
     Pallbearers were: Robert Shenk, Don Pledger, Pat Pledger, Gerry Fisher, Steve Taylor, and Edward Pick.

Wendell Ray Richey

     Memorial service for Wendell Ray Richey, age 76 of Muenster are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Muenster. Services are officiated by Rev. Ralph Gourley. A visitation will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM also at the church. Mr. Richey died December 16, 2013 in Denton.
     Wendell was born to Herman and Irene Tuggle Richey on December 20, 1936 in Marysville, Texas. As an all-around athlete and avid sports fan, Wendell lettered in football, basketball, track and baseball. Throughout his high school career, Wendell also spent time working at a cheese plant, driving a milk truck and a school bus.
     In 1955, Wendell graduated from Muenster High School and then attended Ranger Junior College, where he was a kicker for the football team. But, despite a successful freshman year, Wendell followed his heart and returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Rita Joyce Cain, on February 4, 1956.
     After Wendell and Rita married, he worked in the oil fields of west Texas until welcoming their first child into the world. Following the birth of their son, he and Rita moved back to Muenster where he began his lifelong career as a cattle weigher at the sale barns—where the couple worked side by side for the next 50 years.
     Wendell was a former member of the Jaycees and enjoyed coaching his sons little league baseball games. He also loved fixing things around house and taking care of his animals. Then, after years as a loyal, devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Muenster, Wendell became a Deacon—a position he had held since 1998.
     Wendell and Rita were married over 56 years, during which time they raised five children—two sons and three daughters. He later became known as Popi to 18 beloved grandchildren and three great-grandkids, all who loved him dearly and will continue sharing the stories he told for generations to come.
     Wendell is survived by his: wife, Rita Cain Richey; sons and daughters-in-law: Craig and Ann Richey of Austin, Todd and Michelle Richey of Corinth; daughters and sons-in-law: Robyn and Nick Walterscheid of Muenster, Stephanie and Garry Felderhoff of Gainesville, Melanie and Mark Hesse of Muenster; sisters and their husbands: Deanna and Charlie Dean of Wichita Falls, Linda and Fred Muller of Richardson; sister-in-law, Sharon Richey of Gainesville; eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Irene Tuggle Richey, his brother, Hubert Richey, and his sister, Wanda Riley.

David Ward Boone

     Funeral services for David Ward Boone, age 79 of Fort Worth and formerly from Saint Jo, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Saint Jo First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon Sunday at the funeral home. Services are officiated by Rev. Darius McKay and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Saint Jo. Mr. Boone died December 12, 2013 in Fort Worth.
     Born July 15, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas, David was one of three children born to Daniel and Elizabeth Boone. He was raised and graduated high school in Saint Jo. He then attended TCU and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth. After college, David entered into the US Army for a two year tour. There, he became a training instructor and also flew the remote controlled targets (RCAT) for training missile units.
     David, after the army tour, began working for Texas Instruments where he worked for 33 years. Much of this time, he was a group manager. He also, for some 21 years, was the owner of the Fort Worth Gasket Supply Company.
     David, while working with TI, was stationed in Taiwan. There he met the young lady, Chi-Yeh, that became his wife on February 7, 1984. They were married in Taipei, Taiwan. Together, they were the parents of 6 sons and 8 grandchildren.
     David was a lover of nature. He really enjoyed camping in Colorado, fishing, traveling with the family and some hunting with the boys. He was a loving husband and father and a friend to many.
     David is survived by his: wife, Chi-Yeh of Fort Worth; sons: David of Colorado Springs, Edwin and Andy of Austin, Danny of Houston, Derek of Fort Worth, and Tony of Colorado; sister: Cathy Bourgeois of Dallas; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Elizabeth Boone and brother, Daniel Boone.

Gladys Lucille Bingham Kuzmicki

     Funeral services for Gladys Lucille Kuzmicki, age 84 of Saint Jo, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the McCoy Funeral Chapel in Saint Jo. Services are officiated by Rev. Ricky Kerr and directed by McCoy Funeral Home. Mrs. Kuzmicki died at 8:09 AM Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Muenster.
     Born March 13, 1929 in Erie, Pennsylvania, Gladys was the daughter of Archie and Gertrude (Plucker) Bingham. She married Gerald Beebe, Sr. in 1947, and bore 5 children, of whom remains her daughter Barbara. She later married James Kuzmicki, Jr., in 1957, and moved to California. She retired from San Joaquin County Social Services Department where she worked for many years, though she didn’t consider it working but rather helping all those she could. She moved to Texas in 1987, residing in Burleson. She moved to Saint Jo in 2002 to be near her remaining family, and to enjoy country life once again. While in Saint Jo, she worked at Wal-Mart in Gainesville as a greeter because she loved meeting people and bringing a smile to all. She retired due to health issues in 2009.
     Gladys was loved by all who ever met her. She did not know what having an enemy was like, since everyone she met were already her friends, and she was simply learning their names, never just meeting a stranger. She loved deeply and completely, giving of herself that others may be able to smile. Her joy was in the joy of those around her. Her joy was also in the Lord, and in singing to Him every night after her prayers, even when she was in the hospital, and the nurses affectionately referred to her as their ‘singing lady.’ She loved God and wanted everyone to know that and to know His goodness. This is passed on as her legacy in this life. She loved everything in His creation and thanked Him for the beauty He has given us every day, with the exception of one thing that she felt she needed to ask God for forgiveness for because she didn’t like them, and that was snakes. She surrounded herself with her animals, loving and referring to them as her children, and would cry when one would hurt.
     Gladys loved to travel, and has seen the entire United States, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico and Spain, and now she has made her final journey, back to God from whom she came to bring laughter and a better life to all she could. Words can never tell how much this woman will be missed. In her passing, we mourn because we no longer have her with us to brighten our days, yet we also rejoice at Heaven’s gain upon her return, where pain nor sorrow will ever touch her again. Death is swallowed up in victory, as she lives and sings His praises today in the place God has prepared for her.
     Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Bessent and husband Mark of Saint Jo and a grandson, Sage Pini, and his fiancée, Jamie Lippe. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and a brother Mert Bingham and her parents Archie and Gertrude Plucker.

Lisa Ann Blanton Fleitman

     Funeral services for Lisa Ann Blanton Fleitman are scheduled for 6:00 PM Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the McCoy Funeral Chapel in Muenster. Rev. Ken Robinson will officiate. A second service will be held at the Comyn Baptist Church in Comyn, Texas at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2013. Pastor Ray Seckinger will officiate the service in Comyn. Burial will be in Comyn Baptist Cemetery. Services are directed by McCoy Funeral Home, Muenster, Texas.
     Mrs. Fleitman died November 16, 2014 at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.
     Born December 28, 1979 in Dublin, Texas, Lisa was one of the four daughters of Don and Carolyn Barnes Blanton. She grew up and attended school in Stephenville.
     Lisa married Matthew Fleitman on July 11, 2008. She was the mother of two sons, Quentin and Collin. Lisa was a lovely lady, making friends wherever she went. Her primary occupation was just being a great homemaker.
     Lisa is survived by her: sons: Quentin and Collin Peacock; parents: Don and Carolyn Blanton, of the Bay City area; sisters: Jan Blanton Murphy of Sargent, TX and Diana Blanton Carroll of Pearl City, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her sister Diane Blanton.
     Pallbearers are: David Murphy, Tom Carroll, Jack Carroll, Mark Fleitman, Jimmy Prescher, and Ben Fleitman, Jr.

Thelma Margaret Fette Trubenbach

     Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma Margaret Trubenbach, age 99 of Muenster was held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2013. A Rosary/Vigil was held at 6:00 PM Sunday. All services were at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Services were officiated by Rev. Ken Robinson and directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster. Mrs. Trubenbach died Friday morning, November 15, 2013 in her home.
     Born August 4, 1914 in Muenster, Thelma was one of the 4 daughters of Conrad and Erna Huchton Fette. She was born in Muenster and has lived here all her life. She attended Sacred Heart through the 10th grade and graduated Our Lady of Victory in Fort Worth.
     Thelma married Tony Trubenbach on October 6, 1936 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart. Thelma was also a long time member of Catholic Daughters.
     Thelma and Tony, together, enjoyed their life together. They really liked nature in general, taking drives in the country, viewing the wild flowers and just the countryside to see the baby calves. They also loved traveling, for enjoyment as well as for business. Thelma loved baking, sewing and her family and friends. She and Tony were involved in farming and ranching. They were owners of Tony’s Feed and Seed for many years. There she busied herself as bookkeeper.
     Thelma and Tony had celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary on October 6, 2013. Thelma was a lovely lady and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed!
     Thelma is survived by her husband Tony, a sister, Agnes Stormer and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Erna Fette, and three sisters, Della Hartman, Sister Annette Fette and Isabell Fette.
     Pallbearers were: Don Hartman, Wayne Trubenbach, Tom Hartman, Loyd Trubenbach, Roy Hartman and Mike Trubenbach. Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Hellman, Larry Hennigan, Jimmy Jack Biffle and Spunky Adams.
