Leo Walters

     Memorial Services for Leo Walters, age 61 of Saint Jo, were scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Scott (was McCoy) Funeral Chapel in Saint Jo. Services were officiated by Steve Chism, pastor of Saint Jo Church of Christ, and C. E. Cole and directed by Scott Funeral Home.
     Leo died in Bowie on Monday, January 27, 2014.
     Leo was born on June 18, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was one of the three children of Leo Paul and Florence Mabel (Matthews) Walters. At a very early age, Leo, with his mother, moved to Florida where he grew up and attended school. They, then moved to Bowie, Texas and soon thereafter, in 1969 moved to Saint Jo where he has since lived and has worked for different drilling companies, and did mechanic work on heavy equipment and diesel machinery and for the last 13 years was the golf course mechanic at Lake Kiowa.
     Leo and Linda were married on August 20, 1977 in Nocona. They have made their home in Saint Jo and have lived there since. They were the parents of one son.
     Leo loved the family vacations in Colorado, Wyoming, Florida, Arkansas and Galveston. He, along with his wife, really enjoyed playing golf and his favorite past-time was working on old cars. He had made many friends while living in Saint Jo. He was a great family man and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
     Leo is survived by his: wife, Linda of Saint Jo, son, Mike Walters of Saint Jo, sister, Jacquelyn Gardner of Nocona, brothers-in-law and their wives: David and Donna Evans of Gainesville and Jack and Glenda Evans of Callisburg and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leo Paul and Florence Mabel (Matthews) Walters and his brother Greg Howard.
     Honorary pallbearers were: David Evans, Jack Evans, Brent Bailey, Heath Spruill, Jim Moore, Justin Gary and W. T. Gary.
