Florence Lorraine was born on March 14, 1919 to Samuel and Martha Moore in Otis, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Arthur Warren Williams, on August 12, 1937. Due to Arthur’s job in the oil fields, the family moved to many places including Garnett, Great Bend and Albert, Kansas, and Tonkawa, Oklahoma. They finally stopped moving when they arrived in Muenster, Texas in 1962.
Florence worked many jobs during her life. The family had a drug store in Albert, Kansas. In Muenster, she worked at the Dress Factory and Muenster Memorial Hospital.
In her late 40s, she decided to do more with her life and went back to school to be a teacher. She was employed as a Kindergarten Teacher at Muenster Elementary for 17 years.
She enjoyed playing the organ at the First United Methodist Church of Saint Jo. Florence also loved working the crossword puzzle in the newspaper and quilting. However, her greatest joy was spending time with family. They were the proud parents of three children.
Florence is survived by her: daughter, Janet Sponsel of Wichita, KS; son Randy Lee and wife Darlene Williams of Muenster; daughter-in-law, Janice Williams of Great Bend, KS; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Martha (Brack) Moore; her husband, Arthur Warren Williams; her son, Gary Williams; her brothers: Samuel Moore, Jr., Jimmy D. Moore; and her sister Alberta Bosch.
